David J. Blasik – Broker Unauthorized Sales
David J. Blasik, of PFS Investments, Allegedly Engaged in an Unapproved and Undisclosed Outside Business Activity
David J. Blasik, of Vandalia, Ohio, allegedly sold private securities offerings (or private placements) without approval from his brokerage firm, PFS Investments Inc., according to a recent FINRA Letter of Acceptance, Waiver and Consent (AWC).
Blasik, who was a financial advisor and registered representative of PFS Investments from April 2006 to December 2014, was terminated from PFS after the firm “obtained information indicating that the agent may have been involved in an unapproved and undisclosed outside business activity and/or private securities transaction(s).”
David J. Blasik Barred by FINRA
In a December 30, 2014 e-mail Blasik acknowledged receipt of FINRA’s request to comply with their investigation, and yet informed staff that he would not cooperate with FINRA’s investigation, according to the AWC.
The AWC further alleges that Blasik allegedly failed to provide the requested documents and information by December 29, 2014, even though FINRA Rules require persons associated with a FINRA member to “provide information orally, in writing, or electronically . . . with respect to any matter involved in the investigation. . . .”
In addition, the AWC notes, FINRA Rules state that “[a] member, in the conduct of its business, shall observe high standards of commercial honor and just and equitable principles of trade.” By failing to respond to FINRA’s request for documents and information, Blasik violated FINRA RuIes, and has been barred from associating with any FINRA member firm in any capacity, the AWC reports.
