Former LPL Rep Jon L. Cox Under Investigation for Alleged Unauthorized Outside Business Activity and Loans

Cox, first registered with LPL Financial in May of 2011, allegedly may have engaged in unauthorized outside business activities, private securities transactions and/or unauthorized customer loans, FINRA further alleges.

Cox Allegedly Failed to Respond to Three FINRA Requests; FINRA Levies Sanctions

After failing to respond to three requests to provide information, FINRA filed a complaint seeking sanctions against Cox, previously registered with J.J.B. Hilliard, W.L. Lyons from 8/1990-6/2001, including a bar from the securities industry, the aforementioned FINRA Complaint alleges.

Cox allegedly failed to comply with three written requests from FINRA staff that he provide documents and information pursuant to FlNRA Rules, thus violating multiple FINRA Rules.

Following his termination from LPL Financial, FINRA opened an investigation into whether Cox may have engaged in unauthorized outside business activities, private securities transactions and/or unauthorized customer loans, FINRA reports. After failing to respond to three requests to provide information, FINRA reports that it filed a complaint seeking sanctions, including a bar from the securities industry.
