Harlan Kleiman Fined and Suspended from Securities Industry in Connection with Sale of Amazon 13-30 Interests
Harlan Kleiman, formerly associated with Shoreline Pacific LLC, was sanctioned by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) relating to allegations that Kleiman failed in his supervisory duties.
The Peiffer Wolf securities practice attorneys Jason Kane and Joe Peiffer are investigating the matter.
Shoreline Agrees to Place Amazon Exploration Securities
Shoreline executed an engagement agreement with an oil and gas program sponsor, Amazon Exploration, in August 2012, in which Shoreline agreed to act as placement agent for up to $2,250,000 in partnership interests issued by Amazon 13-30, according to FINRA.
Kleiman Accused of Supervisory Deficiencies Related to Amazon 13-30 Offering
Kleiman was the principal responsible for supervising Shoreline’s private placement business and the supervisor of the registered representative primarily responsible for placing the securities, according to FINRA. Kleiman failed to supervise the Amazon 13-30 offering or the registered representative placing the securities in a manner reasonably designed to achieve compliance with the regulatory rules that are designed to protect investors, according to FINRA.
Kleiman consented to being fined $10,000 and a two month suspension from his role as a principal in the securities industry without denying or admitting FINRA’s findings.
