Lee Robert Sobel was investigated by FINRA in 2014 regarding the sale of interests in Opportunity Drilling and Acquisition Fund, LLC, according to a recent Complaint from FINRA’s Department of Enforcement.

Sobel, who was associated with Equinox Securities, Inc from February 2013 through August 2013, allegedly failed to appear and provide investigative testimony on two occasions as per FINRA’s request, according to said Complaint.

The investigation included, among other things, an inquiry into whether Sobel allegedly violated NASD and/or FINRA Rules, and/or the federal securities laws, in connection with the offer and sale of interests in Opportunity Drilling and Acquisition Fund, LLC, FINRA reports.

Lee Robert Sobel Allegedly Violated FINRA Rules and FINRA Ordered He Face Monetary or Bear Such Costs of Proceedings as Deemed Fair

As part of its investigation, FINRA Staff twice requested Sobel’s on-the-record testimony according to the FINRA Complaint. Sobel, FINRA notes, allegedly never responded.

As a result of this behavior, Lee Robert Sobel reportedly violated FINRA Rules, according to the FINRA Complaint.
Hence, Lee Robert Sobel is facing FINRA Sanctions, including possible monetary sanctions or that Sobel bear such costs of proceedings as are deemed fair and appropriate under the circumstances, according to said FINRA Complaint.
